HB 127 has been defeated!
This bad bill was officially defeated by a vote of 30-38-2 in the Idaho House of Representatives yesterday! Our local District 32 Representative Marc Gibbs joined the majority vote to kill this harmful bill which would have opened the door to rural sprawl by making Comprehensive Plans and zoning regulations totally optional in all 44 of Idaho’s Counties.
Unfortunately, our other District 32 representative freshman Chad Christensen voted with the minority in support of stripping away planning protections for our rural areas.
We are extremely grateful to Representative Gibbs’ vote to protect local planing powers, keeping Idaho communities strong.
